ISPA’s ROLE IN INDIANA - The ISPA Board of Directors and staff have reimagined ISPA’s role as an organization and how it can best align with our mission to develop, improve, and protect Indiana’s poultry industry.
2024 ISPA POULTRY DONATION EVENT - Gov. Eric Holcomb, Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Don Lamb and the Indiana State Poultry Association recognized the generosity of Indiana’s poultry producers at the 77th annual Governor’s Poultry Presentation at the Indiana Statehouse. Over the past year, Indiana poultry farmers and businesses have donated 250,000 pounds of duck, turkey and chicken, one million dozen eggs, and 50,000 dozen duck eggs to Hoosiers in need. 2024 ISPA JOHNDREW MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING - The Annual Indiana State Poultry Association Johndrew Memorial Golf Outing was on September 12, 2024. It was a memorable day, full of fun, camaraderie, eating, drinking, and golfing at The Fort Golf Course at Fort Harrison State Park. To see photos from the Golf Outing CLICK HERE
ISPA ALLIED MEMBERSHIP - ISPA Allied Membership offers the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of poultry production companies. Indiana leads the nation in duck production, is second in the production of egg-laying chickens, third in egg production, fourth in turkey production and has a premium broiler chicken producer. We host two networking events per year - the Evening Under the Stars Banquet in February and the Johndrew Memorial Golf Outing in September. INDIANA TURKEY MARKET DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL - The Indiana Turkey Market Development Council (TDMC) continued its targeted marketing focus in 2024 with strategic media use and partnerships. The council focused on segmenting and prioritizing the following target audience: Food Influencers, Rural Consumers, Rising Consumers and General Indiana Consumers. PURDUE ANIMAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT - The Department of Animal Sciences is the place to go for students interested in learning about animal agriculture. The department offers five different areas of study, multiple hands-on learning opportunities, study abroad experiences, scholarship awards, and support for multiple student organizations. PURDUE ANIMAL DISEASE DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY - The Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Purdue University with locations on the West Lafayette campus and the Southern Indiana Purdue Agriculture Center is gearing up to be the ‘go-to lab’ for veterinary diagnostics and surveillance testing in Indiana. Always ready to respond to high-consequence disease outbreaks and other regulatory disease concerns, the ADDL also provides routine diagnostic testing for animal health and food safety. POULTRY EDUCATION CORNER - Poultry and egg production is an important part of agriculture and food production in the United States, especially in the Midwest. There is a critical need to increase student awareness and understanding of the many opportunities in the poultry industry. These STEM-based programs provide opportunities for teachers to integrate agricultural awareness and understanding into their class materials.
